Cheticamp Boatbuilders is located in the picturesque village of Cheticamp, nestled at the foot of the Cape Breton Highlands National Park. Cheticamp, an Acadian fishing town is situated beside the fertile fishing grounds of the Northumberland Strait and the Gulf of St. Lawrence on the beautiful Cabot Trail.
Cheticamp Boatbuilders has been providing fine, durable vessels for the East Coast fishing industry for more than twenty years. Its excellent craftsmanship can be seen in the construction of fishing boats, pleasure cruisers and sport fishermen boats.
The attribute their growth to hard work, customer satisfaction and a commitment to quality. According to Tim Edwards, director of Nova Scotia Boatbuilders Association, Cheticamp Boatbuilders is one of the best run boat building shops in Nova Scotia.

Cheticamp Boatbuilders is pleased to present our experienced and skilled team. Boat building is a true combination of knowledge, technology, and craftsmanship. We are extremely proud of our staff and our customers continually credit much of our success to our staff.

Bruno has been with the company since 1980. In 1990, he purchased his grandfather’s shares in the company. Bruno is also a crab and lobster fisherman. His expertise in the fishing industry is a big asset to the company.
Alvin is a carpenter by trade and has worked at Cheticamp Boatbuilders since it opened in 1980. Alvin’s ability to perform a variety of tasks makes him a valuable member of our team. In 2005, Alvin purchased shares in the company. Alvin has obtained his Boatbuilders’ Certificate from NSBA.
Gordon is a qualified electrician and power train. Gordon is qualified for engine and shaft installation. He is committed to providing quality work. He has been with Cheticamp Boatbuilders since 1981. In 2005, Gordon purchased shares in the company. Gordon has obtained his Boatbuilders’ Certificate from NSBA.
Paulette has been with Cheticamp Boatbuilders since 1980. She does the bookkeeping and general administrative duties. In 2005, she purchased shares in the company.
Patrice started at Cheticamp Boatbuilders when it first opened in 1980. He worked as a carpenter until we opened the marine supply store in 1993. He then started working as a store clerk. Patrice’s friendly personality results in a good working relationship with out customers.
Bernell is a fisherman but works with us during the off season. Bernell is a jack of all trade. He can do carpentry, hydraulic, engine installation, fiberglass work and electrical. We are very fortunate to have him on staff.
As our newest employee, David's experience as a fisherman is a great asset for his job as store clerk in our marine supply store.
Keith has joined our staff in 2009. Keith is a carpenter by trade but is always willing to learn anything new. He is our safety officer and is in the process of obtaining his certificate for Boom Truck Operator.
Eric is a qualified electrician who’s been with us since 1985. Eric is also an excellent fiberglasser. His easy going personality makes him an excellent co-worker. Eric has obtained his Boatbuilders’ Certificate form NSBA.

In 2004, Kim started working on a part time basis in the office. Kim’s devotion and skills makes her a great addition to our staff.
Dennie has been working for us on a part-time basis for the past 2 years. His carpentry skills and his willingness to do various jobs, makes him a valuable addition to our staff.
Claudius joined Cheticamp Boatbuilders in 2006 and he manages our residential plumbing and electrical department. His 30 years of experience in the business makes him a great addition to our team.
Jacques is employed with Cheticamp Boatbuilders since 2008. Jacques is a hard working, easy going and pleasant employee.
